Maui - One Of The Most Popular Islands In Hawaii
Entertainment and Shows in Maui
The entertainment and shows in Maui range from typical authentic Hawaiian Luaus to high class shows and entertainment. Maui has a unique blend of tourist and local entertainment, and one can easily find various entertainment activities no matter how long or short their stay in Maui decides to become.
A few highlighted shows in Maui include the Ulalena Show. This show, which usually requires advance seating tickets, is a remarkable display of Polynesian dance and music coupled with phenomenal lighting and the occasional use of pyrotechnics. This is the type of show that encourages one to sit back and breathe in the best of the Polynesian culture. Tickets range from $30 to $60, young children are admitted free with a paying adult.
For a phenomenal family show, drop in for a little magic at the Kaanapali Beach hotel where they now host one of the talked about new shows in Maui. The magic show, which is more than just a little street side magic, offers families a one of kind thrill ride of an evening. The reviews regarding the Kupanaha Magic Show have been four star, and for entertainment for families and kids at heart, this show is a must see event. Tickets run $35 to $85 dollars for kids and adults, and dinner is included.
Throughout the year, Maui is known for offering all types of entertainment within the hotels and restaurants, as well as beach side entertainment and the famous Hawaiian cookout, the luau. Finding a luau is as easy as asking. While there are public Luaus, many of them are private gatherings in celebration of weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, life, love, joy, and any other happy event that can be celebrated with food and friends right along the beach. Luaus are a part of the Hawaiian culture, and should be respected as such. If you happen to be walking by, it is considered disrespectful to watch the events of the evening. Just as you wouldn't want strangers peeking on your private parties, private Luaus should be respected. Of course, when a public luau hits the beach, feel free to jump in line for your share of the food, dance, entertainment, and fun.
Hula shows are appropriately popular throughout Maui and can often be viewed for free along the oceanfront. Other free entertainment can be found in clubs, Oceanside, and occasionally even a surprise show in the very hotel you're staying in, as Hawaiians are very big on entertaining their mainland guests.
Just because you're in paradise doesn't mean that every street is safe haven from the real world. Crime still occurs and tourists can be a lovely attraction for a street criminal. Just as you would in any other city in the world, use common sense. Crime is not out of control and the streets are not so unsafe that you should stay in after dark. You simply want to exercise the same amount of caution you would in your own neighborhood in the late night hours. Common sense can keep a fabulous night moving in the right direction.
Most people enjoy the time of their lives while in Maui. You will probably be another one of those people who will take home memories of experiences that will last a lifetime.
